Penguins: Do three requirements including the two starred *

_____ 1.*  Know what a crepe is and how it differs from a pancake.  How are they similar?  How are they different?

_____ 2.* Taste at least one savory crepe and one sweet crepe.

Otters: Do four requirements including the two starred *

_____ 1.* Complete Penguin requirements 1 & 2.

_____ 2.*  Help to make a batch of crepes.  Make sure to follow kitchen safety rules.

Dolphins: Do five requirements including the two starred *

_____ 1.* Complete Otter requirements 1 & 2.

_____ 2.* What is the history of crepes? What country are they from? Who created it?

Butterflies: Do six requirements including the two starred *

_____ 1.* Complete Dolphin requirements 1 & 2.

_____ 2.* What is a crepe pan? How is it different from using a sauté pan?  Why does it work better for making crepes?

Eagles: Do seven requirements including the two starred *

_____ 1.* Complete Butterfly requirements 1 & 2.

_____ 2.* Can you make a crepe batter in advance? Does it have to be used right away? What are some of the safety aspects you have to think about when making crepes?

Owls: Do nine requirements including the two starred *

_____ 1.* Do Eagle requirements 1 & 2.

_____ 2.* Teach someone how to do a skill from this badge or teach some knowledge about this badge to someone.  You can teach kids, your spouse, seniors, anyone, just as long as you are sharing your new found knowledge.   If for some reason you cannot teach what you have learned to someone else, you may choose an additional 2 optional requirements instead.


Optional requirements:

__2. Make a fruit crepe and a crepe with jelly; which one looks more professional?  Which tastes better?

__8. Take a field trip to a restaurant that specializes in crepes.

__9.How can you make a crepe for those that are lactose intolerant? Is it easy to find a recipe? Make a crepe without any dairy.

__10.Make a crepe batter with gluten free flour; how does it taste? How well does it cook?

__11. Make a crepe batter with honey and one with sugar; did they cook the same? Is one sweeter?

__12. It there a way to make a crepe that is vegan? Find a recipe and see what ingredients they use that are different? Are there other ingredients that can be used like the recipe you found?

__13. Earn the cooking badge for your level

__14.Look for menus at restaurants that serve crepes; what do they put on their crepes? How is it different from yours?

__15. Look at the prices that restaurants have customers pay for crepes? Calculate what it cost for you to make yours? What are the differences between what it took to make and what they pay in restaurants?

__16. Make crepes for your church or for a community event

__17. Have a crepe making contest with your troop to see who can make the most unique crepe

__18. How would you set up crepes for a pot luck compared to a family dinner? How would you keep them fresh and warm without getting soggy or cold?
